Every family's needs are different. Beyond the Ember helps families identify resources, overcome barriers, and connect with support that fits their individual needs.
Everyday & Essential Supports
Sometimes the things that make the biggest difference in daily life are also the things families are expected to pay for on their own. We aim to help reduce financial barriers to supports such as sensory tools, AAC and communication resources, adaptive equipment, home safety needs, and other items that promote safety, communication, independence, and quality of life.
Access to Evaluations
Cost and availability shouldn't stand between a family and the answers they need. Beyond the Ember works to improve access to qualified autism, ADHD, and developmental evaluations through financial assistance, community partnerships, and connections to trusted providers.
Community Connections
Finding the right help can be overwhelming, especially when you don't know where to start. Beyond the Ember connects families with providers, organizations, programs, and resources within their communities, helping them find the right next step without having to navigate everything alone.
How We Help
Access Programs
Sensory Support Grant
Sensory and regulation tools can make a meaningful difference in a child's comfort and everyday experiences, but the cost of these items can add up quickly.
The Sensory Support Grant helps families access items such as sensory swings, crash pads, weighted or compression products, chew tools, sensory seating, noise-reducing headphones, body socks, tactile tools, and other sensory or regulation supports that meet their child's individual needs.
Evaluation Access Grant
Getting answers shouldn't depend on a family's ability to afford an evaluation.
The Evaluation Access Grant helps reduce the out-of-pocket cost of qualified autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental evaluations. Funding may cover part or all of an eligible evaluation cost, depending on the family's need and available funding.
Therapy Access Grant
Even with insurance, the ongoing cost of therapy can place a significant financial burden on families, especially when services are needed multiple times each week.
The Therapy Access Grant helps eligible families with out-of-pocket costs associated with services such as ABA, occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, and mental health therapy. Assistance may be used toward eligible copays, coinsurance, deductibles, or other patient-responsibility costs.
Safe at Home Grant
Every family deserves to feel that their home is a safe place for their child.
The Safe at Home Grant helps families access practical safety equipment when a child's developmental or behavioral needs require additional safeguards. Assistance may include specialized locks and latches, door or window alarms, gates, wandering and identification products, visual safety supports, and other eligible home-safety items.
Grant availability and award amounts are based on available funding and individual program criteria.
Applying does not guarantee funding, and additional eligibility requirements may apply.
Beyond the Ember may provide assistance directly or connect families with appropriate community resources and organizations.
